I started yoga later in life, at the age of 48. Most advanced yogis I see on social media are much younger than I which led me to wonder if I was too late in the game to start my yoga journey.
After venturing social media for several years and becoming more involved in the online yoga community, I learned that yoga is much more than the physical asana you often see portrayed. Yoga is a deeper introspection of the self. The physical asana is just a small portion of yoga which was so refreshing to learn. Yoga is basically mind, body & spirit.
I met many yogis through social media in my age range who also (like me) started later in life. They all inspired me to continue to pursue my love of physical fitness as well as mental & emotional wellbeing.
After several years of practicing the physical asana, I pursued the philosophical aspect of yoga and completed my 200 hour yoga teacher certification. Initially I wanted to teach in a studio but for now I'm just interested in creating an inspirational platform for people who are too intimidated to try yoga in a public forum.
My goal is to offer short instructional videos and motivational reminders to help encourage anyone just starting out.
Remember there is no such thing as perfection and as long as you're moving & respecting your body you've already started your journey. It's never too late to start.
